Best Gift Ideas for Mother's Day on the Gold Coast 2024
If you're having trouble deciding what to get the special lady in your life this Mother's Day, then look no further because here is your go to list with some of the best gift ideas no matter what your budget might be!
These gift ideas not only involve the kids in the celebration but also provide a personal touch that mothers often cherish. It's the thought and effort that count the most!
Remember to consider the preferences and interests of your mum/partner when selecting the perfect Mother's Day gift and if you are buying something don't forget to support your local businesses.
Personalising the gift based on her tastes and hobbies can make it even more special.
So with that being said I hope you find some inspiration and happy reading.

Family Photoshoot Gift Certificate
I'm going to be totally biased here and say that this is one of those gifts that will leave a huge lasting impression. And I don't mean the type that is short lived because this is a mothers day gift that will last for many many years.
You can either purchase a gift certificate so she can make the booking in her own time and choose a date and location or you could just make the booking for her and make it a surprise! (just make sure you tell her to dress nicely and that she's okay with being in photos).
The Gold Coast offers stunning beaches or parks as a backdrops or I also offer in home sessions for maternity, newborn and family photos.
You can also make it a little extra by organising prints, an album or wall art at the end of your session so she can proudly display her new family photos around the house. I'll do all the ordering and delivering so all you have to do is tell me what you would like!
If you live on the Gold Coast and this is something you are interested in, then I'll attach the link at the end of this blog!

Spa Day or Massage Gift Certificate
Raising kids, working, cleaning, cooking, being a taxi driver (the list really doesn't end) is no easy task so if she's a lover of some quiet time then treat her to a relaxing spa day or a rejuvenating massage at your local spa or wellness centre on the Gold Coast.
This provides her with a chance to unwind, recenter herself and enjoy some pampering. You would be amazed at how light and relaxed she will feel after a massage and no one asking anything of her.

Customised Jewellery
Does she love jewellery? Then you might consider gifting a piece of personalised jewellery, such as a necklace or bracelet, with the initials, birthstones or finger prints of each family member. This is a meaningful and sentimental gift that she can wear each day or for special occasions.

Family Adventure Day
Is she the adventurous type who loves to get out into nature and have fun?
Plan a day of family-friendly adventures, such as a visit to a Gold Coast theme park, wildlife sanctuary, or an outdoor activity like paddle boarding or kayaking. Make sure the activities are suitable for the entire family to enjoy together so no one misses out.
You can also pack a yummy picnic for lunch or just some nibbles to save spending too much while you're out.

Handwritten Letter or Journal
Write a heartfelt letter or create a personalised journal just for your mum/partner. Share your thoughts about all the things you love about her, the memories you share and why you think she's the best person in the world .
If you've chosen to do a journal you can also leave blank pages for her to document her own journey as a mother.
Tip - if you're looking to make this extra special, get the kids to pick out a plain journal from shops like Kmart, Target or Office works and let them decorate the front cover. They can stick on things like flowers, gems, glitter or beads to really make it special.

If your assisting young children with what they can gift their mum for mothers day then these ideas are just for you!

Handmade Artwork or Craft
Every mum loves a special piece of artwork or a craft project just for her.
This could be handprint or footprint art, a homemade card, homemade wrapping paper with their drawings on it or a personalised drawing of her. Pinterest is a fantastic place to look if your needing any inspiration on what to make.
If she loves to show artwork around the home, consider putting your child's masterpiece in a frame for the perfect final touch!
Just be sure to write the child's name on the back along with the date that it was made so she can remember when it was made.

Memory Jar
Have the kids write down their favourite memories with mum on small pieces of paper, roll them up and place into a decorated jar. This way, she can read and cherish these memories whenever she likes and can re visit these notes as the kids grow and become adults themselves.
It's also a good way to try understand your little one on a deeper level as they perceive the world so differently to us as adults. You may be surprised that their favourite memory might be completely different to what yours is.
You could also mix it up and print off a heap of photos (I'm sure there's a million of them on your phone) and write their memories on the back of the photo.

Customised Pot Plant or Garden Stones
If she has a green thumb and loves her house plants or gardening, get the kids to decorate a pot plant or two or some garden stones with their handprints, drawings, or messages. Mother's Day is all about the thought behind each gift so don't think that you have to spend a lot of money.
Places like Bunnings or your local nursery are great places to walk around and pick out her favourite plant.

DIY Flower Bouquet
If feasible, help the kids gather flowers from the garden or pick out a small bouquet from your local florist ( they are easy to find with a quick google search).
Then you can arrange the flowers in a vase for a homemade floral gift. Maybe pair with some chocolates, wine, slippers and a book if that's her thing!

I hope you found this helpful in choosing the perfect Mother's Day gift for your mum.
Just remember there is no one size fits all. You know your mum/partner the best so be sure to choose something you know she will love and enjoy.
These personal touches demonstrate the time and effort put into selecting a gift, making it more meaningful and special. Personalised gifts often have a lasting impact and serve as cherished reminders of this significant time in her life.
As promised I have put a link below this post if you would like to purchase a gift certificate or simply book in a session!
